The true meaning of life

By illustrator Blake Wright.

Black v/s Brown

I think that these classic leather boots from Belstaff would be great to match with my outfits this spring. Not sure whether to go for the black or brown ones though. What do you think?!?

Fashion + Magazines = Nike

For those of us who loves fashion and magazines and fashion magazines, Nike just released the Women's Premium Print Pack, a limited edition set of three shoe styles, all made using shredded magazines.

The pack contains versions of the Flash Macro Premium, the Blazer Mid Premium and the Air Rift Premium. Because of the unique process involved, each shoe is one-of-a-kind in pattern sequence. While the shoes have regular soles, strings, and other components, the main material used in each is a kind of laminated, stitched fabric created from old glossies. In addition to the usual technical elements, Nike pre-treated each with a clear solution to ensure durability.

According to Nike, they will only be available in Europe, China as well as on "select emerging markets." That is proper PR my friends! Lucky me, living part time in London and part time in Hong Kong I just can’t fail this time. Wish me luck my friends!

The Hub / Issue 1 / Amber

I just love this photo shoot for the magazine The Hub´s no.1 issue. Just check out those amazing Louboutins! The Hub Magazine is founded by Tolu Adeko and was launched in October this year. I’m very intrigued to see what’s happening to this really cool, quarterly magazine which focuses on design, culture, fashion, art and architecture , which reflects Adeko’s background working with luxury interior design.

Badass heels

I never been to keen on those black Jeffrey Campbell heels that everone was walking around with for about a year ago. But these beauties...! These towering brown leather platform boots totally covered in buckled straps are made in heaven and is exactly what I need for this spring to come. I adore the curved toe combined with the chunky wooden heels. (Pics from Nasty Gal).

Trying to match Stockholm weather

Landed in Stockholm this morning and the weather is rough. Just realised that despite my eforts I didn't bring appropriate clothes from Hong Kong to match this weather. I will have a look and see if I can find these honeys at Weekdays.

I want. I need. I want. I need.

“I feel I'm very influenced by the '80s. To me it feels like a period when fashion was quite impactful, almost a little freer than it became in the '90s, when it began to be more business-driven. The '80s just had a lot of artistic sensibility. It seemed like a freer, more adventurous time.”

5 things I ♥ about Westwood

1) The patterns
The Scottish patterned woollen cloth used for kilts that has been popular in Scotland for hundreds of year, comes to life again thanks to Queen Westwood. The tartan patterns in Westwoods clothes, created by the use of different coloured wool for the warp and the weft, allows to be mixed and matched with just about everything.

2) The assymetric design
Always that twist that makes a coat, a dress or a shirt stand out. Amazing cuts!

3) The hidden corsets
Found in at least 95% of her dresses is the corset design which is truly flattering for any type of shapes on a woman.

4) The everlasting punk rock references
Since she opened the clothing store "Let it Rock" in London in 1971 (which changed its name to SEX in 1976) together with her partner Malcolm McLaren, she never seems to forget the 70s.
5) The orbs
They are everywhere on her accessories and jewellery and they just look great. It's as simple as that!

Red Statements

Choice of Red

I am delighted that my favourite colour red will adorn us all during Fall/Winter 2010. As I mentioned before, my favourite piece of clothing in red this fall is without competition Isabel Marant’s leather pants. However, these are the other pieces I would choose to add to my wardrobe.

Clockwise from left:

These übercool fingerless gloves by Vivienne Westwood would glam up any type of autumn outfit according to me. I love the details with the chain and the charm on the back.

We’ve seen variations of this Alexander McQueen clutch bags all over town a number of times, but I am still not sick and tired of it and I adore this red version.

My lips will be statement red with the help of Candyfuture Opaque Lipstick by Retrofuturist and could be combined with these rectangular sunglasses by Arnette Agent. Never mind their plastic look, it just adds a twist to the whole outfit.

I love my statement boots and therefore I cannot resist these leather patent ankle boots by Versace.

Up until now I haven’t really understood the new relieved hype around Diane von Furstenberg. However, when trying out her new Fall/Winter collection I realised that the simplicity in the dresses and the way they fall on the body is too flattering for any woman’s body to be able to resist.

Ann Demeulemeester has always been a favourite of mine and I always found something to die for in all her collections. This is a perfect dress for a night out during this autumn. Or if going for trousers instead, this one-shoulder silk blouse by Halston Heritage is just as perfect for the event.

Leopard for Fall/Winter 2010

Leopard
I really love the fact that leopard prints will stay on for another season. These are my choices from head to toe for Fall/Winter 2010 – but I would obviously not wear them all on the same time.

On a bad-hair-day I would prefer to cover up with this beautiful print bowler hat by Anthony Peto, which you can find at Browns.

Moving on I would dress for cold weather in this leopard print cropped coat by Love Moschino.

Around my neck, I would not say no to this silk leopard print scarf by Yves Saint Laurent.

Jimmy Choo Bree Large calf hair bag doesn’t look that good on this particular photo, but looks absolutely fab IRL. I would definitely combine this with Jimmy Choo Ubai leopard-print leather wallet.

During daytime I would cover up my feet in Giuseppe Zanotti printed leopard low boot wedges and at night time when going out with the girls I would change into these leopard-print platform bootie by Miu Miu.

Ebay

These beauties are out on Ebay right now. Unfortunately they are the wrong size for me, otherwise I would have put in a bid straight away. I love the combination of colours and the "office"-look.

There is a time and a place for everything

Just came back from an hour long walk in the rain. These old favourites are still with me and do their job when they have to. Thankful for that.
