Styling: Tuxedo Overdose
Inspired by the beautiful and string woman, Marlene Dietrich, I have always loved tuxedos.
A real tuxedo fit for a black-tie ensembles should, in brief, be made out if these traditional components are:
- A jacket with ribbed silk facings (usually grosgrain) on a shawl collar or peaked lapel (while a notched lapel is a popular modern choice, it is not traditionally considered correct)
- Trousers with a single silk or satin braid covering the outer seams
- A low-cut waistcoat or cummerbund
- A white dress shirt (a marcella front is traditional, but other styles are also accepted) with a turn-down or wing collar
- A black ribbed silk bow tie matching the lapel facings
- Shirt studs (optional) and cufflinks
- Black dress socks, usually silk or fine wool
- Black shoes, highly polished or patent leather Oxfords, or patent leather court shoes
Above is my own version of a tuxedo:
- Dries Van Noten Tuxedo shirt with dress cuffs
- Alexander McQueen Silk and wool-crepe tuxedo jacket
- Olavo Tie Neck Waistcoat
- Balmain wool trousers
- Agent Provocateur Classic satin corset
- Etele Underwear Set
- Silk Blend Bow Tie
- Velvet Bow Tie Heels
- Hermes clutch
- Charles-Hubert, Paris Gold-Plated Open Face Mechanical Pocket Watch
- Cream striped silk scarf from Debenhams
- Betmar Flower & Lace Hat
- Hermes cotton handkerchief
- Plastic Cigarette Holder from The Fabulous Audrey Hepburn Shop
- Benson & Hedges 20 packs
- Tiffany Cufflinks 14K Gold

Resort 2011 favourites: Alexander McQueen
I adored Alexander McQueen and I believe that Sarah Burton has done a fantastic job to update his design but at the same time keep the mystery behind the clothes. The amazing material is still present, as you can see, as well as the Victorian presence. Is Sarah Burton the our new Queen?

The Cruise Collections are here!
Yes! This week the Cruise collections/Resort 2011 hits the stores. This year there were a magical mixture of dots, stripes and colours in many of the collections combined with some clean, basic holiday garments in basic colours brought forward from the Fall 2010 collections; black, white and camel. Apparently we are still not tired of them.
My 5 favourites among the Cruise collections are:

Red Statements
I am delighted that my favourite colour red will adorn us all during Fall/Winter 2010. As I mentioned before, my favourite piece of clothing in red this fall is without competition Isabel Marant’s leather pants. However, these are the other pieces I would choose to add to my wardrobe.
Clockwise from left:
These übercool fingerless gloves by Vivienne Westwood would glam up any type of autumn outfit according to me. I love the details with the chain and the charm on the back.
We’ve seen variations of this Alexander McQueen clutch bags all over town a number of times, but I am still not sick and tired of it and I adore this red version.
My lips will be statement red with the help of Candyfuture Opaque Lipstick by Retrofuturist and could be combined with these rectangular sunglasses by Arnette Agent. Never mind their plastic look, it just adds a twist to the whole outfit.
I love my statement boots and therefore I cannot resist these leather patent ankle boots by Versace.
Up until now I haven’t really understood the new relieved hype around Diane von Furstenberg. However, when trying out her new Fall/Winter collection I realised that the simplicity in the dresses and the way they fall on the body is too flattering for any woman’s body to be able to resist.
Ann Demeulemeester has always been a favourite of mine and I always found something to die for in all her collections. This is a perfect dress for a night out during this autumn. Or if going for trousers instead, this one-shoulder silk blouse by Halston Heritage is just as perfect for the event.
The Queen and I
Just like one of my favourite bloggers, Hanh, I also collect Alexander McQueen pieces. This amazing scarf with a lip-pattern is the next thing going into my collection.
